Call for Panel Proposals

We invite proposals for panel discussions as part of the 20th Annual International Scientific Conference on Social Innovations for Sustainable Regional Development.

 Panel Overview

This conference offers an exceptional platform for fostering interdisciplinary and collaborative discussions encompassing a wide range of topics within the realms of social and educational sciences, as well as exploring trends and the transformation of higher education in the digital age. Panels are a valuable way to bring together experts and researchers to explore  specific themes and share their insights.

Panel Themes

We welcome proposals for panels that align with the conference's overarching theme of higher education transformation and digital challenges. Topics may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Governance and digital innovation in higher education.
  • Strategies for overcoming digital transformation challenges.
  • Economic, social, and ecological sustainability of digital transformation.
  • Digital learning environments and resources.
  • The mismatch between education and the labor market.
  • Digital innovation in higher education.
  • Integration of digital technologies.

Submission Guidelines

Panel proposals should include the following information:

  • Panel title.
  • A brief description of the panel's theme and objectives.
  • Names and affiliations of the panel organizer(s).
  • List of proposed panelists and their affiliations.
  • A brief biographical sketch of the panel organizer(s).
  • Any additional information that supports the relevance and importance of the panel.

Call for Workshop

We invite researchers to submit a proposal for our workshop, "Reinventing University. The Digital Challenge in Higher Education," to be held as part of the 20th Annual International Scientific Conference on Social Innovations for Sustainable Regional Development, in Klaipeda, Lithuania.

Workshop Overview

The digital revolution has presented both challenges and opportunities for higher education institutions (HEIs) worldwide. This workshop aims to explore the transformative potential of digital technologies in higher education and address the challenges associated with their integration.

Workshop Themes:

  • Critical theoretical reflection and empirical research on digital transformation in HEIs.
  • Evolution of digital technologies in higher education.
  • Organizational changes in universities driven by digital transformation.
  • Strategies employed by universities to promote innovation and tackle digital challenges.
  • New training models to meet knowledge and skills demands.
  • Promotion of quality online relationships and e-learning standards.
  • Rethinking professional development in universities.
  • Best practices in training and skills development for online learning in higher education.

Tracks

1. Governance and Digital Innovation in HEs. Focus on alignment between digital strategies and educational practices, reorganization of HEIs for digital transitions, and addressing digital transformation.

2. Overcoming Digital Transformation Challenges in Higher Education. Explore obstacles faced by institutions during digital changes, innovative strategies for managing digital transformation, and the impact of the digital revolution on teaching, learning, and student participation.

Submission Guidelines

Workshop proposals must follow the provided template and adhere to the following guidelines.

  • Abstract (not exceeding 500 words) describing the workshop's purpose.
  • A brief biographical sketch of the workshop organizer(s).
  • Description of the anticipated audience and expected number of participants.
  • Rough agenda outlining the workshop structure and tentative speakers.
  • Plans for dissemination of workshop outcomes.

 For dissemination purposes, the two convenors commit to utilizing the following channels:

  • All academic channels affiliated with both universities, namely Link Campus University and Klaipeda University.
  • The research networks with which they collaborate, including the academic Journal "Quaderni di Comunità," "Persone, Educazione e Welfare nella società 5.0" and "Regional Formation and Development Studies."
  • The scientific societies they are affiliated with and networks of collaborating researchers.
