Department of Management was founded in 1995 by prof. habil. dr. Antanas Seilius. Since the science of management in Lithuania is relatively young, the study programs were created based on the latest information and knowledge obtained from universities in the USA, Sweden, Denmark and Germany and the proposals of the heads of businesses.
The sustainable team of the department actively conducts scientific research and publishes it, participates in scientific conferences, and prepares project applications. Currently, 28 teachers work in the department, including 8 doctoral students. The professors of the department have practical experience in managing organizations or creating businesses.
The department has social partners, for example AB "Klaipėdos pienas" established an annual scholarship.
Management field of study programmes at Klaipėda University is to educate highly qualified specialists who are able to constructively apply their knowledge about the management and development of organisations, institutions, and other social systems, to choose appropriate research methods and tools, to solve theoretical and practical management problems, to continue their studies and research in the field of management and related fields, and to be prepared for continuous improvement through lifelong learning.
Currently, the Department of Management invites you to choose the following study programs, which can be in Lithuanian or English (part in Russian):
1. Bachelor's "Management" (duration 3.5 years);
2. Master's degree "Business Management" (2 years);
3. Abbreviated after college "Management" bachelor (2 years);
4. Doctoral (4-year) studies in Management (conducted together with VDU, MRU, VUŠA)
